Making an Impact - December 2025

Making an Impact
For those of you that joined us at our 2025 Client Appreciation event this year, I would like to extend my sincere “Thank You” for taking the time to join us at our annual event and celebrate our 45th Anniversary. For those that were unable to attend, the event was titled “Impact of Decisions” as we discussed some of the most common questions we receive from our clients. The feedback we received was resoundingly positive and inspired us to introduce a new newsletter series titled “Making an Impact”.

I must confess that a monthly newsletter is a big commitment, considering we never use “canned” content from an outsourced third-party. Our intention is not to flood your inbox with marketing content, but rather to curate content that provides you with reliable information so you can make confident decisions. We hope you find this newsletter helpful. If it raises questions, we invite you to contact our office.

We know that not all the information we will provide will be relevant to everyone, but it will be important or interesting to many of our clients. We will try to keep it brief and to the point. So, let’s get started.

Important Reminders:

Remember that the final 2025 estimated tax payments are due next month, January 15, 2026. Many taxpayers are now opting to make those estimated tax payments online:

Pay the IRS: Pay the IRS
Pay California: Pay the FTB

As the new year arrives, it is a good time to:

Review and update beneficiaries on insurance policies and retirement plans
Review your tax withholding rates and submit new Form W-4 with your employer for payroll in the new year
Update your calendar for important events and your tax appointment
Set up your income tax file to collect important documents as they arrive

Upcoming Tax Season Update:

Be on the lookout as we gear up for Tax Season. Tax organizers have begun printing and will be mailed out soon. Our seven tax preparers have been in at least 32 hours of continuing education to better understand the many new tax provisions introduced through the One Big Beautiful Bill. However, it is one thing for Congress to pass tax laws, but it is another for the Treasury Department to write these provisions into the tax code and draft regulations. We are hopeful this will be completed by the middle of January.

New Client Portal

An important value we prioritize is providing the very best client experience we can. We are thrilled to announce a new online client portal. This new technology will dramatically improve e-signing capabilities for tax returns. You can send and receive secure messages directly to our office, upload sensitive information and tax documentation that you normally would not want to attach to emails, view and store completed previous tax returns, view and pay invoices, and more. The best part? No additional login and password to remember! Simple login instructions, with text authorization to create a simple and secure environment while saving time.

Our office is working diligently to roll out this new portal in a timely manner, and further instructions will follow as soon as possible.

Thank you!

2025 has been a great year for our firm, and we hope it’s been a great year for you and your family as well. With that said, thank you for your trust in our firm, and we look forward to seeing you soon as Tax Season is just around the corner.

Until then, I hope you had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Years.
